Our guided tour lasts about 1 hour, with a guide leading the group every twenty minutes. Nobody waits more than twenty minutes for a guide. School, church, and other groups may depart with their own pre-assigned guide as soon as ready. Our doors open at 9:00 AM with the last tour entering the cave at 5:00 PM. Laurel Caverns is open seven days a week, May 1st through October 31st. Reservations are not needed, but it is helpful if large groups let us know in advance they are coming.

The cave temperature is 52 degrees year round, so a sweater or jacket should be worn.  Non-slippery shoes are important.  Never wear high heels to a cave.

Laurel Caverns is a natural cave which follows the natural slope of the mountain. The family tour goes down approximately 170 feet, and is a total walking distance of about 3,000 feet. There are stairs and sloped floor to walk down as well as up. So, the tour may be strenuous for some.

Cameras are welcome in the caverns, but please, no video.
